What is Adapted Riding?

Updated: Jul 17, 2021

Dustyridge Equine Centre offers adapted riding for people that struggle with physical disabilities. Purposeful manipulation of the horses’ movement can be used as a tool to awaken different senses in the human body.

When a horse walks there are 110 multi-dimensional movements that happen every minute. These movements are very similar to the movements of a human walking. Different activities can be incorporated for each individual, as needs tend to be unique to each person. When utilizing the horses, individuals can improve their physical condition, mobility and experience an overall sense of accomplishment.
